Stallion Spectator Rankings is a private company that provides personal consultation and high-value timely analysis of all major thoroughbred stallions across the globe. SSR updates data electronically and publishes results bi-annually for its limited membership of no more than 30 members at any one time. SSR developed original statistical data analysis programs and grading systems for stallions based partially on “Apex Ratings”, a system conceived and implemented through the U.S. Jockey Club by Oppenheim over two decades ago.
Bill is widely known throughout the world of Thoroughbred racing and breeding as a leading author, analyst of stallions and the equine breeding markets. A Breeders' Cup Main Board of Directors member, his articles appear regularly in the “Thoroughbred Daily News” and “The Blood-Horse.”
Oppenheim’s business partner, Dr. Emily Plant, is a former Professor of Marketing at the University of Montana with expertise in statistical analysis. SSR aggregates thousands of data points from official sources worldwide with the goal of producing practical research built on a foundation of rigorous academic standards.
Stallion Spectator Ratings was established in 2013 and has developed and maintained the most advanced system of independent Stallion ratings in the world today.
